CARD OF THE MONTHAfter a busy run up to Christmas with work and kids activities, we've actually had a really quiet one this year. Mostly watching TV, walking Dottie and eating cheese...and it's been just what we needed! 2024 has brought me loads of exciting projects with new clients, as well as the opportunity to build up my portfolio and even start thinking about publishing projects of my own. It's been a successful balanced year with loads of great experience and a few lessons along the way (Mostly financial as per usual, when will I learn?!!) PUBLISHING PROJECTS IN 2024Publishers Imagine That gave me this fantastic project. Scratch and Paint is a series of activity books packed with arty challenges. Penguin Books gave me with lovely little gift book project. The series is titled Tiny Moments and it commemorates some of life's biggest milestones and occasions in a baby's early years. And Moo Moo Nap Nap from publishers End Game. A story by author Sarah Philpott. It's about nap time on her family farm in the US (the cows actually do nap under the maple trees!) It was such a treat to illustrate and I'm so happy with the final results. UNTIL NEXT TIME (IN 2025!)I feel forever grateful for the amazing projects I get to work on. Another year has past and I still can't believe that this is my actual job! I'll be working even harder in 2025 to ensure it continues. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Thanks for taking the time to read about what's been happening here in my studio. I'm always looking for exciting new projects so if you like my work please contact me or have a browse of my Bright Agency portfolio. Christine x

IT'S BEEN A WHILEHello!! I'm still here and I'm happy to say that I've been really busy with publishing projects for months. They aren't all published just yet so I'm keeping them under wraps but I'm excited to share this one with you. It's titled Moo Moo Nap Nap and it's a delightful little story by author Sarah Philpott. It's about nap time on her family farm in the US (the cows actually do nap under the maple trees!) It was such a treat to illustrate and I'm so happy with the final results. Loads of fresh work in my Bright Agency portfolio too, including cards and patterns suitable for gift wrap and other surfaces. Here's a fun little collection of kids birthday cards. I have given my Etsy a bit of a refresh with these cute new art prints which are available to buy now. I also have a secret project on the go that involves my fluffy assistant Dottie and I really hope that one day I get to write about it on here. That's the dream so fingers crossed!

Christine x DOPAMINEThe days are looking brighter and my mood and work have followed suit. I've been working off a trend based on Dopamine, bright colours, happy quotes and feel good imagery. I've loved this whole theme and I'm hoping to take this vibrancy forward into the rest of my designs. So watch this space for more work like this. You'll find this portfolio update at Bright Agency. CARD OF THE MONTHMy chosen one this month isn't a best seller by any stretch but I've always loved it and it's giving me happy vibes. Available on Thortful. WORK IN PROGRESSIt's never too early for Christmas and I've been refreshing my festive portfolio for Bright Agency. The initial rough sketch has been on my studio wall for over a year, so it was great to finally bring these characters to life. I'm a fidget and hate sitting in one place all day, so I use the iPad to draw all the characters and motifs in Adobe Fresco (vector) and then import into Adobe Illustrator on my Mac. There I create the final design with all the finer details. UNTIL NEXT TIMEGo and find your Dopamine! Mine is in list making, sunshine, the gym and this cutie right here. Honestly! every time I see Dottie I feel like the little girl on Despicable me 'it's so fluffy!!'

Christine x SPRING HAS SPRUNGAnyone else struggling to believe we're halfway through March already? Not that I'm complaining, it's a step closer to happy days for me... sunshine, flowers, sitting in the garden and just being warm! My portfolio definitely reflects my love for spring/summer and bright colours. Easter is probably my favourite holiday (design-wise). Baby animals and lots of bright yellow, what more can you ask for? I've worked on lots of Easter projects in the past and can't even begin to count how many chicks I've drawn over the years. In my portfolio you'll find a wide selection of artwork available for cards, gift wrap, surface pattern, toys and apparel. Or, you might just want to have a closer look at my publishing portfolio for a potential project. Either way, go on, have a nosey!! Bright Art Licensing Portfolio THORTFULIt was another great year for the Fox and Bird Mother's Day cards on Thortful. There were cards for Mummy, Mum, Grandma, Two Mums, First Mother's Day, from the bump and even from your fur baby. Thanks to anyone who bought a Fox and Bird Mother's Day card this year, I recently reached 17000 sales on Thortful and I'm truly grateful for every single one. CARD OF THE MONTHThis month's best seller (and my absolute favourite Mother's Day card) is this very cute Mummy card. I love this colour palette, the cornflower blue background really makes the different elements pop. WORK IN PROGRESSI'm a busy bee this month with lots of exciting publishing projects on the go. I've drawn baptisms, jungle, farm, dinosaurs and lots of animals I've never doodled before, like armadillos, possums and turkeys. The turkey turned out pretty cute (see sketch below) I might start sneaking them into all future farmyard themed projects. UNTIL NEXT TIMEAll this talk of sunshine and I think we're actually forecast snow this month. I'm an optimist though so I'm going to pack away my winter coat because sunny days are coming! Thanks for taking the time to read about what's been happening here at Fox and Bird Studio. I'm always looking for exciting new projects so if you like my work please contact me or have a browse of my Bright Agency portfolio. Christine x WORK IN PROGRESSI've had a busy start to the year with a unicorn colouring book project and an exciting series from Penguin Books. I think I've drawn more unicorns in the past 4 weeks than I have in 15 years. Good job I love them! Watch this space for the finished books but until then, here are some of my favourite unicorns from over the years. CARD OF THE MONTHLove is in the air and I have lots of Valentine's Day cards for you to choose from. This design is still going strong. First illustrated for a set of Pride postcards, it's become one of my best selling Valentine's Day cards. Available on Thortful PORTFOLIO SNEAK PEEKLoving blue and dark backgrounds at the moment and there's lots of fun florals and birthday designs to choose from in my Bright Art Licensing Portfolio COMING SOONOver the past couple of years I've worked on a publishing project focusing on a family.... of humans (not cute animals) This was daunting at first but it has been a huge learning curve and my confidence in this area has grown massively. So much so, I decided it was time to create some Mother's Day cards featuring women. Coming soon to Thortful UNTIL NEXT TIMEThanks for taking the time to read about what's been happening here at Fox and Bird Studio.
